The Kalaweit organization has been fighting for the preservation of biodiversity in Indonesia since 1997.In Borneo and Sumatra, it saves forests from deforestation with the close collaboration of local populations and takes care of wild animals affected by trafficking. The production of palm oil, the increasing extraction of nickel, coal, and gold threaten the Indonesian forests.

Upcoming general meeting
The Kalaweit France Annual General Meeting will take place on Saturday 6 June at the Maison des Associations du 7e in Paris (4 rue Amélie, 75007 Paris). Chanee and the Kalaweit team will be there to present the 2025 annual report and an overview of our activities. The meeting is open to all; please confirm your attendance. A new reserve in Borneo!
In this video, Chanee announces the start of the creation of a new forest reserve in Borneo: the Grand Dulan. The aim is to protect a total of 6,000 to 7,000 hectares of forest, home to orangutans, sun bears, gibbons, macaques, clouded leopards and proboscis monkeys. The situation is urgent, as deforestation linked to palm oil and coal production is on the rise. With your help, we can make this happen. Thank you!
