The Kalaweit organization has been fighting for the preservation of biodiversity in Indonesia since 1998. In Borneo and Sumatra, it rescues gibbons and other animals from wildlife trafficking and helps local communities to protect their forests. Palm oil is the main threat to the Indonesian forests.
« The forest continues to be cut down and the gibbons are being torn from their natural environment. If human beings one day learn to love life, all life, Kalaweit will no longer have to fight. »
